Siesta Key Beachfront at its Best!
In our opinion, the most important room by far in a beachfront condo or villa is the Lanai. Our lanai is only about 125 feet away from the Gulf of Mexico, and with its unique tempered glass railing, it provides totally unobstructed views of the beach and Gulf.
The floor-to-ceiling glass panels slide to any position so you can enjoy the refreshing Gulf breeze with your morning coffee as you watch dolphins jump and manatees cruise lazily by. The screens also slide so you can take pictures of amazing sunsets from your private front row seat.
Sherri and I searched the Florida Gulf Coast for three years driving literally every road to the Gulf of Mexico between Anna Maria Island and Marco Island and found nothing we thought compared to the view you see above and the laid back ambiance of southern Siesta Key. If you want to just hang on the beach, you won’t be bothered by crowds. If you enjoy collecting seashells, the best shelling on Siesta Key starts right here. If you enjoy beach walking, there are miles of beach at your doorstep, and to the south, over a mile of totally undeveloped beachfront where you’ll see far more birds than people.
If those are the sorts of things you like, I think you’ll love our small slice of paradise too.
Unique Gulf and Bay Views
In our quest to find the perfect condo we had almost given up finding one that offered both direct beachfront Gulf views on one side, and direct Bay views on the other. We found others that came close, but to the best of our knowledge, this is the only condominium complex on the entire Gulf Coast from Anna Maria Island to Marco Island that directly fronts both bodies of water and provides totally unobstructed views. As you can see in the picture above, we are on a VERY narrow strip of sand that is sandwiched between the Gulf of Mexico and the inlet adjoining Little Sarasota Bay.
Our guests have free access to our boat docks, kayak storage rack and kayak launch. If you want to rent a boat, kayak or paddle board for your stay, let us know and we will be happy to help you secure a good deal from a reputable company.
The view you see above of our boat docks and the sun reflecting off the condos across the bay inlet immediately to our east is from the 3 x 6 foot sliding window in the guest bedroom. It is the only room in the condo that does not have a direct beachfront and Gulf view. This bay inlet is the perfect place to launch a kayak tour of the neighboring mangrove islands, or to just enjoy the bay by our condo where mother manatees often bring their calves to play.
Beachfront Master Suite with Direct view of Beach and Gulf of Mexico
The second most important room for us is the Master Suite. Our Master Suite has a 4 x 6 foot sliding window directly overlooking the beach and the Gulf of Mexico. With the gentle prevailing Gulf breeze we love to turn off the air conditioner at night, and sleep like babies with the sound of the waves lapping at the sandy shore. Below is the view you can enjoy from laying on the bed in the Master Suite:
We recently updated both bedrooms with king-size pillow-top Jamison beds that are two notches above the highly-acclaimed beds Jamison supplies to the Marriott. We’ve had several guests call us to ask about the specific model (Kingston Cottage) so they can buy one like it for their bedroom at home.
Both of our bedrooms are notably larger than those you typically see in Gulf coast condos, and very comfortably accommodate the king-size beds with night stands and charging outlets on both sides of the beds. The Master Suite has a private full bath with a tiled shower, and the guest wing can be closed off at night from the rest of the condo, which provides private access to its adjoining full bath that has a tub and tiled shower.
Both bedrooms have a large dresser and chest of drawers that provide plenty of storage. The Master Suite has a large walk-in closet, and the guest bedroom has a large sliding door closet that takes up most of one of the walls. Both bedrooms have Cable HDTV and DVD.
Many of our guests appreciate having a well-equipped kitchen with full-size appliances and the bright, but dimmable overhead lighting. We even keep a new back-up coffee maker in the pantry – there’s certain things you just don’t want to risk. You’ll, of course, find a blender for boat drinks, a toaster wide enough for bagels, a mixer, etc. in the pantry too.
Heated Pool, Clubhouse and Shuffleboard by the Beach
In the middle of the complex, and overlooking the bay you’ll find our heated pool and clubhouse. Our office, which is staffed six days a week, is connected to the clubhouse. There is a shuffleboard court just to the west of the office by the beach.
