Our Condo

Siesta Key Beachfront at its Best!
Beachfront Siesta Key Lanai with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass panels and tempered glass railing

In our opinion, the most important room by far in a beachfront condo or villa is the Lanai.  When Sherri and I plan a beach vacation we go to great lengths to find accommodations that are as close as possible to the water’s edge.  Upon arrival, we dump our luggage at the door and go straight to the lanai to see if we made a good decision.  With that in mind, we beam with pride when our guests say that our the pictures simply don’t do it justice.  We get to hear that comment almost every week – even from returning guests.

Sherri and I searched the Gulf Coast of Florida for three years for this view and ambiance.  During that time we drove literally every single road, including every dead end road that went to the beach between Anna Maria Island and Marco Island and found nothing we thought was superior to the picture you see above.

We like it laid back and we like to be away from crowds.  We also like to be high enough to be above the protective dunes that block the view of most first floor Gulf condos, and the palm trees that often obscure the view on the second floor.  However, we certainly don’t want to be in a high rise, or anything that vaguely approaches that stature.  For those reasons, we think our third floor location is ideal.  As a bonus, we are close to the elevator and stairs.

If those are the sorts of things you like, I think you’ll love our small slice of paradise too; if you agree, grab the cold beverage of your choice from the fridge, and join us on the lanai.

Beachfront Master Suite with Direct view of Beach and Gulf of Mexico

Siesta Key Beachfront Master Suite with 4 x 6 foot sliding window directly overlooking the Gulf of Mexico

The second most important room for us is the Master Suite.  I have to admit, the importance of a comfortable bed has increased as we’ve grown older, but it still ranks second to having a direct beachfront view of the water from the Master Suite, and being close enough to enjoy the sound of the waves as we drift off to sleep at night.

Our Master Suite has a 4 x 6 foot sliding window directly overlooking the beach and Gulf.  With the gentle prevailing Gulf breeze we love to turn off the air conditioner at night, and sleep like babies with the sound of the waves lapping at the sandy shore.

To the former point, we recently updated both bedrooms with king-size pillow-top Jamison beds that are two notches above the high-acclaimed beds Jamison supplies to the Marriott.  We’ve had several guests call us to ask about the specific model (Kingston Cottage) the day after they return home.

Both of our bedrooms are notably larger than those you typically see in Gulf coast condos, and very comfortably accommodate the king-size beds with night stands and charging outlets on both sides of the beds.  The Master Suite has a private full bath with a tiled shower, and the guest wing can be closed off at night from the rest of the condo, which provides private access to its adjoining full bath that has a tub and tiled shower.

Both bedrooms have a large dresser and chest of drawers that provide plenty of storage for even our guests that stay for a month or so.  The Master Suite has a very large walk-in closet, and the guest bedroom has a large sliding door closet that takes up most of one of the walls.

Unique Gulf and Bay Views

Our Siesta Key beachfront condo provides the unique benefit of direct Gulf and Bay views

The view you see above of our boat docks and the sun reflecting off the condos across the bay inlet immediately to our east is from the 3 x 6 foot sliding window in the guest bedroom.  It is the only room in the condo that does not have a direct beachfront and Gulf view.  This bay inlet is the perfect place to launch a kayak tour of the neighboring mangrove islands, or to venture to the north where mother manatees often bring their calves to play.

In our quest to find the perfect condo we had almost given up finding one that offered both direct beachfront Gulf views on one side, and direct Bay views on the other.  We found others that came close, but to the best of our knowledge, this is the only condominium complex on the entire Gulf Coast from Anna Maria Island to Marco Island that directly fronts both bodies of water and provides totally unobstructed views.

As a bonus, it also came with  boat docks, kayak storage and a custom designed kayak launch dock.  Our guests have free access to those amenities too.  If you want to rent a boat, kayak or paddle board for your stay, let us know and we will be happy to help you secure a good deal from a reputable company.

Well-equipped Kitchen

Beachfront Siesta Key has a well-equipped kitchen with full-size appliances

Many of our guests appreciate having a well-equipped kitchen with full-size appliances and the bright, but dimmable overhead lighting.  We even keep a new back-up coffee maker in the pantry – there’s certain things you just don’t want to risk.  You’ll, of course, find a blender for boat drinks, a toaster wide enough for bagels, a mixer, etc.  in the pantry too.
